The Rogue Hunter Argeneau Vampires Book 10 Lynsay Sands Books Reviews
This story is about Sam (Samantha) Willan and Mortimer - the enforcer. This has the enforcer falling for a woman that doesn't fit his Jessica Rabbit mould. It is funny and weird - just a tad. Definitely a decent read though - so thanks Lynsay!
Her Argeneau novels are worth every penny. I've bought all of them but mostly in paperback since my was a gift just last christmas. Lynsay has a way to make me laugh even though I'm reading a serious part,,you'll have to read the book to understand this. Sometimes I laugh so hard I cry. Her Argeneau characters can read minds and some of the things they read will also have you laughing. If you've never read any of these books, do yourself a favor and get one, you won't regret it. I promise.
I recently became a fan of Sands works but I have to admit after reading several of her books especially with the Argeneau vamps-I must say this read was at a sluggish pace. I rather the action and comedy of books previous and following as with Decker and Dani in the, "The Immortal Hunter." Though I adore Mortimer's character throughout the series I must add he comes across slightly dull when his romance with his "life mate" Sam begins. Though these are fictional, the romance and sex appeal of the characters create part of the charm of the story and the fact the Sam's character is referred to as Olive Oyl doesn't create the quiet allure for the reader as far the intimate scenes of the book. At the end of the day, it's worth the purchase if you're a big fan of the series but this read could be disregarded without missing a beat within the series. I say if you've read previous books in the series- skip it and dive straight into the immortal hunter and truly enjoy a well written piece of work with enough humor, romance and action to captivate any reader.
Usually my biggest grip about urban fantasy books is lack of plot and/or storyline. This book has a plot, but the author does nothing with it. Woman missing and perhaps the victim of the rogue vampire--nope, just off having fun. We spend one-third of the book reading about the different people involved in this disappearance and wondering why the sheriff seems so reluctant to hunt for her, and what will happen next, only to find out that nothing happens next. I should have realized that there were problems with the book at the beginning when I burned up 15% of the book on my just reading about people moving into cottages with no electricity.
What a waste of time. Maybe her other books are better, but I'm not going to try and find out.
Samantha isn't perfect, which I love, she's a workaholic and rarely gets a break. She's clumsy and flat chested. Yeah she's a special one and I fell in love with her and the leeches.
I love this series and have powered through them after getting the first one for free. They're well worth the price, in fact I would pay double that for each of the books. It is a long series, which I love, and every character has you falling in love with them. You become emotionally invested in these people and what I loved about Samantha she refuses to turn unless her sisters do. A number of times I did shake my head and say 'poor Mortimer.
This is my favourite vamp series and I recommend for the lovers of the Scangaurds series and other vamp romances.
I like Lyndsay Sands and enjoy her Argeneau series. I have come to appreciate the ongoing characters and the newly introduced ones. This one had the "innocent" Samantha (not vampire) and Garrett, a hunter of rogue vampires finding love. Some suspense, some confusion, some interesting action, and as usual, nice love scenes. I have come late to this series so have the opportunity to read the books as quickly as I want without having to wait for new books to be published. I notice my putting weeks and weeks between reading the next book in the series now. Starting to feel a bit stale to me. Could be just me. I will pay attention to the next book, "The Immortal Hunter" and hope things turn around.
How can a eight hundred year old, seem to end up getting caught while trying to make love to his Lifemate in nature? Why of course, by trying to make love in places that are in nature!
Mortimer and Samantha (Sam) meet while both were in Cottage Country. Sam on vacation and Mortimer was looking for a rouge vampire 🧛♂️. While trying to get things done many fun adventures happen and fun is had by all.
Recommend this book 📖.
