A Circle Around Forever eBook Robert K Swisher Jr
It's not easy to classify Robert K. Swisher's "A Circle Around Forever" for it does not fall easily into any single genre. It is, for example, a deeply spiritual book and yet it is not a religious story.
It has elements of myth, of legend and of the paranormal and yet it is not a ghost story. It has epic heroes and villains; adventure, murder and betrayal but it isn't a thriller or a mystery novel.
In short, it stands alone on its own shelf.
Told from multiple viewpoints, "A Circle Around Forever" is the story of one family through the generations; a family that has been singled out by two elemental forces to do battle for the fate of humanity itself. This is not, however, a story of how that family stood united against an implacable foe; it is, instead, a tale of members of that family doing battle with one another under the watchful eyes of entities that, as Swisher writes, were in existence even before there were gods.
Swisher's characters are memorable: A bitter ghost who longs for nothingness, she was once a woman betrayed by her family, blamed for the death of her mother and cast out unfairly into the world; a boy who longs to love but knows he cannot for he has a great journey to undertake; a girl whose faith in the boy she loves allows her to remain true to her heart; a man who can make rainbows, a woman whose tears turn into flowers and a host of others populate the pages of "A Circle Around Forever."
The narrative flows smoothly. Most of the chapters are short, effortlessly pulling the reader along from scene to scene. The writing is straightforward, direct. Despite that, there are passages that are so wonderfully descriptive that I sometimes stopped reading for a few moment just to admire them before being swept back into the story itself.
An excellent read and a book that I highly recommend.

A Circle Around Forever eBook Robert K Swisher Jr Reviews
I really enjoyed A Circle Around Forever. In many ways it's a spiritual book, though it never occurred to me that the story was overtly religious. It's spiritual in an introspective and deeply personal way. I have seen the word "philosophical" used in other reviews and I agree with that.
Genre is not really what's important this book anyway. As the story begins, I thought I was getting into a period piece, or a small, personal ghost story a la Madeleine's Ghost, but the book is so much more than that. It's a generational tale, one that draws you in quickly and keeps hold through the entire book. I won't give away the plot but suffice it to say, it's well worth your time. I applaud the author's writing, both in his style and in the thoughtful voice he brings to his characters. Highly recommended.
This amazing novel encompasses several genres, including magical realism, fantasy, and literary fiction. I would categorize this original work as epic. Once you read it you’ll understand why.
The main theme is the battle between Love and Hate. Does one need the other to exist? Would the world be a better place if Hate didn’t exist? The story follows the lives of several characters via alternating chapters. The genesis of the people representing hate and love goes back for generations.
The two main characters Bertha and Shannon are the champions of Love and Hate. They’ve been selected to fight a battle. This battle is a melding of fantasy and fable. The climax is mind-blowing! This artistically written story will linger in your mind for days.
Robert K. Swisher Jr’s A Circle Around Forever is a book that doesn’t fit neatly into a genre. It’s officially (according to , anyway) listed in Horror and Science Fiction & Fantasy. While it has elements that fit into those categories, A Circle Around Forever is really more than those categories.
Once you strip away the veneer, this is a story about decisions. It’s a story about the voices that whisper in your ears, telling you to be calm and don’t overreact or to crush the people that have hurt you. As the characters make more and more decisions they find themselves slaves to the choices they’ve made (yes, even the good guys) and the voices that whisper truths and lies continue to pursue their own agendas. It’s a story of reckonings, failings, and forgiveness.
Like any good sci-fi or fantasy story, there’s a hefty dose of philosophy holding it together. While not religious, per se, there are certainly spiritual tones at work here. In some ways, there’s a subtle stripping of religion happening in here, too. Take away the veneer of religion and you find yourself with a simple message of love versus hate and that becomes the backbone of A Circle Around Forever. Swisher’s story takes that message and expands it into an tale where forces push people into making decisions, ghosts try to feel nothing, and one young man finds the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Part horror, part fantasy, part philosophy, all epic.
Throw away your notions of genre and just enjoy the tale.
A Circle Around Forever is a new spin on the classic tale of Good vs Evil that held me enthralled from start to finish. At times unexpected and chilling with its portrayal of a subtle and insidious evil, other times joyful and uplifting, painting the inner beauty of the graceful human spirit, this grand scale effort could have easily run to triteness, but Swisher’s deft handling of a much-covered subject makes the impossible seem plausible. Even with heavy overtones of scripture the story stays fresh, balanced, and relevant, without ever preaching. A Circle Around Forever teaches us that we can never be rid of our ghosts and only by making peace with them do we have reason to hope. The big finish causes the reader to ponder the insignificance but infinite potential of man, if he only chooses to have faith, and leaves us with the poignant reminder that the capacity for both Love and Hate resides within us all.
